Yes it gets darker sooner and by 5PM it’s pretty much dark outside. Not much light is getting into the City Hall after 4PM but I love the quality of ambient light from the street. Mixed with the lights I’m using it creates a very cool look. What’s also great about photographing late afternoon is there are less people. Yes, there are plenty of photographers but the Grand Stairwell can remain empty for a few minutes allowing enough time to get the shots that are typically impossible to get unless you Photoshop everyone out.
So from the 1st look to dancing in the rain (under the umbrella), we got it all covered with Angela and Keith. While I wanted to get some more traditional, cool shots of them I also noticed how playful they are with each others. They weren’t serious and definitely enjoy being with each other and spending time together (why else would they get married, you’d say?) So all seriousness aside we got some goofier shots on the Grand Stairwell.
